Question Re: SIP Lines (trunks)

I am a new user and want to beta test my new system. How many SIP Lines (trunks) should I purchase to test the system? Does anyone have a recommendation for a SIP provider (dialing within the US)?

Vitelity or VOIPStreet work nicely. Or Gardo, he sells minutes, too.
