Postby tonywang » Wed Nov 04, 2009 4:21 am

Dear all, I am installing VICIBOX on VM. It is not work at step 48. I think Asterisk & VICIBox did not be installed

I checked the ubuntu-vici-install.log & found bellow

chmod: cannot access `ubuntu-vici-asterisk-0.06.sh': No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access `ubuntu-vici-2.0.5.sh': No such file or directory

mySQL & others looks fine. How do I correct this problem? Thanks for any advise!

1) given the odds there was an interruption in your internet service during installation

2) don't use VMware, virtualbox, or any other virtual system for Vicidial installation. As a rule, it won't work.

that being said, if you DO get vicibox installed in a VM setting (for TESTING only) remember that any flaws you experience could well be from the fact that it's a virtual environment. i consider VM to be useful only to test specific dialplan settings and results. not much more. and if you crash or fail during the install ... go get a P4 and use that instead. the hard cost of the P4 is less than the troubleshooting costs of the VM installation.

if one of us gets bored one of these days, we may create a VMware or other distro for testing Vici.

In the meantime, your best bet is to just use the Vicibox DEMO cd. No installation necessary, just pop it in, boot from it, and *poof* you're running a vicidial server. Won't make any changes to the computer at all. You can just pop it into any agent workstation and use it to practice your vicidial setups.
