SIP Dial Plan

Hi everyone... Just a newbie with Vicibox so pls bear with us. I've just installed Vicibox and we would like to know how to configure a SIP trunk Dial-Plan which only uses IP address authentication (ie no user/pass in registration string). We plan to use 91 + US number.

Also, what is the recommended hardware requirement for 30 call center seats with a 1:5 dialing ratio? We're using single processor (core2 duo) with 4GB memory.

Thanks.

Just fill it in as mentioned in the Manager Manal except leave the registration field empty.

Its now working. Thanks for the help. By the way how do we enable G729 on the SIP trunk? Also, will it consume more resources?

G729 consumes A LOT more resources. Have you purchased the licenses and installed the libraries to use G729 from Digium?

We're looking at purchasing the codecs from Digium but we're still weighing our options as to whether we should invest more on the bandwidth and use ulaw or invest on the hardware equipment/codec license. We're testing Vicibox on a Core2Due with 2GB RAM and 160GB HD. What is the max. number of agents that we can log-in on this box using a 1:3 ratio with SIP trunk at full recording? Thanks a lot....

If not recording you can put in at least 15 to 20 if you want to risk it. Me I only put 20 seats on a core2quad server.

Invest in hardware, VICIDIAL is free so that saved a lot of money from your call center. It is wise to use the money saved by buying appropriate hardware.

Even proprietary call center solutions require massive hardwares.

If you can get Verizon FiOS at your office, you will be very happy. Failing that, your pricing for every month of extra bandwidth (to avoid g729 compression) vs buying another server because g729 eats up your CPU is purely economical.

Many facilities also will put their Vicidial Server at a Co-Location with HEAVY bandwidth available and then use a single T1 at their office location for ONLY agent traffic to the server.

Depends on how many simultaneous calls you will be making. Assume 100k per call (10 calls per meg) is fairly safe for "uncompressed". And that will allow the most calls Per Server (lowest CPU usage). But servers aren't that expensive. I generally recommend getting a server online and actually testing before making any "annual committments".
