Very urgent backup restore

We had a power failure yesterday and did a DB repair when the power came up but as it was running the power failed again. We are now getting corrupt tables that the repair cannot fix. We would probably have to restore a backup of Monday evening but have no idea how to do it. If anyone is available that knows EXACTLY what they are doing please let me know urgently as well as what your rates are. If the repair does not work we will require you to assist with the restore immediately.

restore is usually $99 if you have a valid backup set.

but the process is fairly simple for the DB restore. unpack the files until you get the asterisk.sql file and then:

mysql -p

drop database asterisk

create database asterisk

exit

mysql -p asterisk < RESTOREFILE.sql

You'll need the root password for mysql, of course (if there is no root password, just leave off the -p). Note that if it succeeds, it will be silent for quite some time ... you can watch "htop" in another ssh session to watch it stay busy.

And get an unterruptible power supply (battery backup!) on the sql server. Really. 8-)

Thanks a lot William. I will give it a go and if battling will get back to you for support. We have a UPS on it and shut down properly after the first power failure. However there was not enough time for it to charge again when the second power failure struck. Will get a second or stronger one though.

William, before I screw this up let me rather ask you to do it :) How quickly can you do it? We must be open for business within an hour. I can make payment immediately.

Yep. a phone call would be required to get emergency support at this time of night. Or some luck. That was my last post for the night.
