In need of assistance for viciserver set up

I will post my detailed specs on my cpu in my next post but I'm using a core duo, 4GB RAM and 500GB 5,400 RPM. I've installed the ViciBox_Redux.x86_64-3.1.13.iso and followed all the directions in the pdf for it.

One thing I haven't done is setup the hostname or assign a static IP. I attempt to use a FQDN but see its hosted by Intuit, I'm lost.

Not all that familiar with Linux but the directions given are simple to follow (they should include when burning the iso to use a DVD...not a CD )
and I'm looking for assistance beyond this point.

My goal is to have a box that is available for 10-15 users. Once I've used that for a while, I foresee the need for a cluster with up to 200 users- 6-8 months from now. I can also see the need for a standby, experienced tech.

So,for now help getting this first server up and working is what I'm seeking

You should get faster harddrivers 15000 rpm SAS/SCSI is perfered.

Have you checked other post about hardware reqiements that matches your demand?
Also be more specific about how you intend to use vicidial,
Is it only outboud, only inboud or a mixture of both?

I have contacted a builder in LA, USA. My goal is to have a cluster with some late hardware. I'm going to give him a try. I appreciate the responses

Static IP is not required as long as it will not change daily during work. FAST internet however is required (100k per call is optimum). FQDN can be pointed by any domain registrar (GoDaddy.com, ExpertSRS.com ... etc) from any owned website, but not generally from places like live.com or yahoo.com or intuit "dumbed down" builder sites. That type of provider does not ordinarily offer DNS, however, you can have your "base" yoursite.com site on intuit for the use of the dumbed down site, and have a subdomain (dialer.yoursite.com) pointed to your dialer, and use dyndns or another service to move it automagically or just change it manually if it only changes every 6 months or so like many dynamic IPs in the US.

So the builder never panned out and I still need some help. I was unable to afford a HDD with 15000rpm at the moment.

I only need this for 2 or 3 agents to do outbound calling. I still don't have a FQDN and I'm not sure what ip address to assign during setup.
