Help required for installing & configuring Cepstral TTS

Dear All ,
I have purchased Cepstal TTS - Alison voice with ports. However i have difficulty configuring the same.. As the voice file played is going Blank always.

Request you to kindly help me provide me some help installing & configure Alison voice asap.

VICIDIAL server details & its configuration
1)Site from where i downloaded & install Vicibox server http://www.vicibox.com/server/index.html
2)Telephony Hardware : Dinstar GSM gateway (Model No DWG 2000F)
3) Server Config : Physical server Intel 3.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Motherboard S1200V3RP
4) Vicibox server version : ViciBox v.8.1.2
5) No other software installed ( Running only vicibox server)
6) OpenSuSE Leap v.42.3 64-bit
7) Asterisk v.13

I have purchased Cepstral Alison Voice, port and save to file licenses however I am not able to use the TTS feature on Vicidial. Have installed the voice, port and and save to file and all files seems to be installed properly but the TTS is not able to be called from Vicidial.

Response for Swift -V shows response as
Cepstral Swift v6.0.1, March 2012

Default Voice: Allison-8kHz v6.0.0
Language: US English v5.1.0
Lexicon: unknown v0.0.0

Concurrency: 1 Port(s) Registered
0 Port(s) In Use

Lowest and best seems for me mutually incompatible. But our best men in town for this are the Vicidial Group (sales@vicidial.com) or William Conley @Poundteam (http://www.poundteam.com --> Catalog)

This quote request seems to ignore that you can do custom fields in VICIdial. If you use custom vicidial list fields, do you still need a separate CRM?

Alas yes: Vicidial still has a 1:1 relationship with its custom fields

1 record per lead violates both "normalization" rules for database management and the reality of many requirements for an unpredictable number of records in possibly multiple categories. So Vicidial Custom Fields can delay the CRM requirement, but can't eliminate it entirely.

The sign on my wall from back in the 90s (still have it around here somewhere): Good / Fast / Cheap: Pick Two!

So this Prashant wants a project that will run for a very long time (used as filler?) to get Good and Cheap. We have many clients in our Standard Service Level who do just that. When Budget is King, but it must still work perfectly, the result is a Very Long Production Run.

Dear All,

I have purchased Cepstral Voice, ports & save to file licenses from Cepstral for TTS configuration with Vicidial. However I am having difficulties installing and configuring TTS on Vicidial. Allison voice, ports are installed but after downloading and installing apt_swift it is not show in the asterisk folder neither the TTS is not been played properly.

Can someone help me with the steps for getting the Cepstral TTS configured in vicidial

I m having issue with app_swift package issue i m trying download from git clone but in that
app_swift/Asterisk , there is no directory called asterisk. . plz provide step by step installation for cepstral Alison 8kz that i have purchase licence

Cepstral will have installation instructions for every version of asterisk with which their software is compatible. They have your money, and this is a specifically Asterisk-based product. I bet they also have free support for immediately after purchase.

Spoke to their customer service team they informed for configuring it inà Vicidial u need to seek help from Vicidial forum such has been their reply. I am chasing them since last 1 week. Very unprofessional. After purchasing their product as well they don't have the steps for installing and configuring in vicidial. They have been referring to install app_swift from 3 party server namely
from github, but after downloading the asterisk folder is missing in app_ Swift as mentioned in their standard installation procedure and they have repeatedly asking to contact vicidial

You're asking the wrong question. You're not installing and configuring it in Vicidial. Your installing it in ASTERISK. That's why they blew you off.

Once you get it installed and functioning in asterisk, we'll be able to help you out. But first it must work in the version of asterisk you are using. We've installed it in several versions, but I don't think we've installed it in asterisk 11 yet.

PS: You did not post your Vicidial Version with Build. Posting your installer version is nice, but ANY version of Vicidial can technically be installed with that installer. So please remember to post your Full Vicidial Version with Build. In this case, posting your Asterisk Version wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I am using Viibox 8.1.2, build $build = '181116-1133' and asterisk 13.

I spoke to Cepstral they have run a few command and have informed its installed and working fine in asterisk and to check with vicidial forum for getting it configured /working with Vicidial

swift -V

now that's some progress.

You did, however, skip your Vicidial Version (although you included the build, lol). Vicibox 8.1.2 is the version for the installer, which is NOT Vicidial. Vicidial will be more like 2.14.xxx.

Did you read in that post where it mentioned the Manual? Which was written to avoid having to reprint the instructions in this forum for everyone? Kinda the purpose of the manual. Did you try what the manual said to do?

Ah, that's the part where you get vague in what you've done, but ask for help in doing "everything".

For us to help you, you should (seriously) post all the steps you've taken, including any changes to configuration you have made in the web gui (don't post entire configuration files or web pages, just the changes you've made). If you also post the manual vesion and page where you got the instructions, that would help us know what you have attempted and whether you misinterpreted anything.

Please note that the BEST way to get help on this site is to provide as much relevant detail as possible so us lazy people can help you as easily as possible. If we look at your request and realize that the only way to help you is to write you a book covering every possible angle, we generally just move on to the next post (as time providing free help is rather limited). We want to help, but we want to help as many as possible within our limited time.

How do we use Cepstral in batch mode & how to keep the swift mode inactive?? Pls provide the steps to do the same or send me the link where the steps are been provided..

Hello William,

I have follow the below URL forinstallation of cepstral

1-Download your desired voice from our Downloads area.
2-Extract the archive, e.g. tar -xvzf Cepstral_Allison-8kHz_x86-64- linux_6.0.1.tar.gz
3-Change directory to the extracted directory, e.g. cd Cepstral_Allison- 8kHz_x86-64-linux_6.0
4-Run the install script with elevated privileges, e.g. sudo sh install.sh
Enter Your Voice Activation Key
swift --reg-voice
Enter Concurrency port activation key
sudo swift --reg-ports
Enter a Save to File Activation key
sudo swift --reg-filewrite

Installed a version of Asterisk and at least one Cepstral 6 telephony voice.
Download the app_swift archive: git clone https://github.com/jkister/app_swift
Change directory to the appropriate app_swift for the installed version of Asterisk:
cd app_swift/Asterisk_10 or cd app_swift/Asterisk_1.8 or cd app_swift/Asterisk_1.6

Here IS the issue In app_swift I can not find app_swift/Asterisk13

Here is not showing Directory of asterisk

I have setup two users on two softphones , defined these two users and their extension numbers in the "sip.conf",

[1000]
type=friend
host=dynamic
secret=1234
context=in_office

[2000]
type=friend
host=dynamic
secret=1234
context=in_office

In dialplan "extensions.conf", I have

[in_office]
exten =>2000,1,NoOp()
same =>n, Swift(This is a test of Cepstral's TTS in Asterisk)
same =>n, Dial(2000)
same =>n, Hangup()

where is the issue.. where am i going wrong??

I have mentioned all the steps above that I have found and have afollowed so far to get this TTS Configured in the server with best of my knowledge and installation guides available with me so far.

I am no clue where am I going wrong or what is left out. Request you to please help me to get this sorted out

These are the instructions we used last time we did the install, and I'm not sure if it was on Asterisk 11 or Asterisk 13.


Here are instructions we have used to install the Cepstral 6.0 version with VICIdial:

1. Go to https://www.cepstral.com/store and purchase a voice license, enough concurrency ports, and the save to a file ability.
2. Go to https://www.cepstral.com/downloads/ and download the appropriate voice files for your Linux install
3. untar the install files
#> tar -xvzf tar -xvzf Cepstral_Allison-*.tar.gz
4. go into the new directory:
#> cd Cepstral_Allison-*
5. run the installer, choose the defaults, and accept their license:
#> bash install.sh
6. Run the swift command with the --reg-voice option to activate your voice and follow the prompts. Be sure to answer the questions exactly how you did when purchasing the key:
#> swift --reg-voice
7. Run the swift command with the --reg-ports option to activate your concurrency ports and follow the prompts. Be sure to answer the questions exactly how you did when purchasing the key:
#> swift --reg-ports
8. Run the swift command with the --reg-filewrite option to activate the ability to save to a file and follow the prompts. Be sure to answer the questions exactly how you did when purchasing the key:
#> swift --reg-filewrite

To test with an outbound survey campaign, make sure your campaign's Routing Extension is set to 8374 or 8375, and the Survey prompt points to a TTS entry on your system. To see debug output on the Asterisk CLI, make sure your server is set to AGI Output = BOTH.

app_swift is not preinstalled in vicibox.
if you want to cepstral integration with vicibox you no need of app_swift.
just install the cepstral voice, concurrent port and save to file license.

if you are using the cepstral with your asterisk dialplan then you might need the app_swift software.
